Library News

We're halfway there! I can hardly believe that we are already halfway through the school year. It's amazing how fast the year flies by when you are having fun (think books). Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fairs this spring and right before the school year gets out.

pawsThe Spring Book Fair theme is "Paws for Books". The library is so excited to provide access to inexpensive books to your children! The fair at the end the year (May) will be a BOGO fair. All profits from regular fairs go to purchasing books and supplies for the library. All profits from the BOGO fairs go to the students, in the form of free books! Hope to see you there!

Overdrive is Here!

odCan't get to the library to check out or return books on time? We have you covered! Overdrive has arrived. Anyone with access to a smart device may now sign up for free eBooks, audiobooks, music, and more. If you are a student or employee at the Shoshone School you can stop by the school library and have Mrs. Owens help get you set up. Otherwise, all you need is a Shoshone Public Library card and a few minutes to stop by the public library and talk to them about getting you set up to checkout books for free, with never a worry about lost, damaged, or overdue items. You will have access to the Idaho Digital Consortium (20 libraries across the state) bank of books. There are thousands of titles to choose from! Hurry in today to start your Overdrive reading adventure.

Get Started with TumbleBooks

TumbleBooks is an amazing eBook resource that is available for students both at school and at home. This site is totally FREE. There is NO need to log in or create an account. This is due to a 3 year grant from the State of Idaho Library Commission and the Albertson’s Foundation.

You will need to go to the Shoshone Public Library website ( ) in order to access the TumbleBooks website. You will see the link for TumbleBooks on the right side of the screen.  There you can click on the TumbleBooks icon.

Once you get to the TumbleBooks website there is a link at the bottom for a “Tumble Tour”. Teachers, parents, and students will be interested to see how the site works and all the amazing things that are available there.

You can also use this site on a mobile device such as an iPad, Kindle, or Nook. There is NO app to download. You will still need to access it through the Shoshone Public library website. On some devices it is automatically redirected to the mobile site. If this does not happen you will need to change your setting to MOBILE in the upper right hand corner.
