Welcome to the Shoshone Schools

Library News

Welcome to the Shoshone School Library! The library is the recipient of two grants this school year. We received one grant from the Seagraves Foundation, that actually carried over for two years. The second grant is from the Idaho Commission for Libraries. Mrs. Owens has been busy purchasing new books for the library, both for the Kindle and library bound copies. Ask your students what books they’ve been reading! Twenty minutes reading each night significantly improves your child's academic performance, especially if you read with them! Check out the list of upcoming events to look for in the library this year. Happy Reading!

October 22-25th: Scholastic Book Fair

8-4 Every Day, 5-8 pm Wednesday and Thursday during parent teacher conferences.

Students that come visit the Book Fair with a parent or guardian will be entered into a drawing.

November 14: I Spy Leaders Family Reading Night

     6:30-8:00 pm

All students that attend will receive a prize.

Students that complete the I Spy activity will be entered into a drawing for more prizes.

The Shoshone Public Library will be here to help you sign up for a free library card.

March 18th-21st:  Scholastic Book Fair

8-4 Every Day, 5-8 pm Tuesday and Wednesday during parent teacher conferences.

May TBD: BOGO Book Fair

Overdrive is Here!

odCan't get to the library to check out or return books on time? We have you covered! Overdrive has arrived. Get Started with TumbleBooks

TumbleBooks is an amazing eBook resource that is available for students both at school and at home. This site is totally FREE. There is NO need to log in or create an account. This is due to a 3 year grant from the State of Idaho Library Commission and the Albertson’s Foundation.

You will need to go to the Shoshone Public Library website ( ) in order to access the TumbleBooks website. You will see the link for TumbleBooks on the right side of the screen.  There you can click on the TumbleBooks icon.

Once you get to the TumbleBooks website there is a link at the bottom for a “Tumble Tour”. Teachers, parents, and students will be interested to see how the site works and all the amazing things that are available there.

You can also use this site on a mobile device such as an iPad, Kindle, or Nook. There is NO app to download. You will still need to access it through the Shoshone Public library website. On some devices it is automatically redirected to the mobile site. If this does not happen you will need to change your setting to MOBILE in the upper right hand corner.
